SYNTHESIS at Salem Fine Arts Center, Mary Davis Holt Gallery. Oct 22, 2010 - Jan 28, 2011. This exhibition will feature a variety of works of visual art inspired by poetry, literature, music and dance. The exhibition will coincide with a celebration sponsored by the Salem College School of Music in which we will recognize the 200th birthday celebration of Robert Schuman, an original synthesizer of the arts. On the evening of Fri, Oct 29th, there will be a reception for the artists followed by the School of Music faculty performance of beloved works by Schuman as visual artists and dancers display and perform their creative responses to the music. Installations, two-dimensional and three-dimensional works in all mediums will be considered. Artists 18 and older are invited to send up to five submissions to be considered for exhibition. Submissions must be in the form of jpeg files and may be e-mailed to kim.varnadoe@salem.edu or a cd of images may be mailed to: Kimberly Varnadoe, Salem Fine Arts Center, 601 S. The Lake Norman Art League announces a call to artists for its Annual Fall Exhibition, October 22, 2010 - January 2, 2011. The exhibit will be held at the Carolina Art Garden, in Cornelius, NC. The Shepherds Center: Arts & Crafts Bazaar, Nov 6th, 9am-2pm. Seeking 25 vendors to participate. Cost to be a vendor: $25 for a 6ft long table and a door prize donation. Otherwise, vendors keep all of their earnings. The primary purpose of this event is to increase community awareness of The Shepherd's Center's Senior Center. The other purpose is to raise a little bit of money to help fund the Senior Center's programs and cover the costs of ongoing renovations.
